Pakistani authorities have deployed special security measures near Christian churches as Christmas approaches. Measures include police deployment, traffic control, lighting, and street cleaning, following consultations with local parish leaders, as reported by Agenzia Fides.

Police and church leaders held meetings to review safety arrangements and provide instructions. Officials plan security checks at church entrances to protect worshippers and maintain public order and safety.

Father Qaisar Feroz of Lahore told Agenzia Fides that the initiatives aim to safeguard people, property, and peaceful coexistence, especially amid regional tensions, security concerns, and recent terrorist threats. Christians are celebrating Christmas while emphasising love, hope, and unity across communities of different faiths.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs in Punjab and local Catholic communities organised public events that highlighted interfaith harmony. Father Feroz said these gatherings reaffirm the true spirit of Christmas, bringing Muslims and Christians together to promote reconciliation, solidarity, and peace.

Civil and religious groups plan a public peace gathering for December 21 in Karachi, while they organise similar interfaith gatherings across Pakistan.

According to Agenzia Fides, Catholic parishes, dioceses, associations, and study centres hold events to foster fraternity, reinforce security, and celebrate the season peacefully.
