Since Christmas 2024, the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) has claimed responsibility for the killing of at least 590 Christians in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with attacks concentrated in North Kivu’s Beni and Lubero districts. Recent incidents include a raid on Ntoyo village in September that killed 102 Christians and an ambush in Beni District on September 26. ISCAP released an 18-minute propaganda video urging Muslims across Africa to join their cause, showing executions, forced conversions, and clashes with DRC and Ugandan forces. The group framed these attacks as a religious duty under the banner of the Islamic State, denying ties to the Allied Democratic Forces.
