David Harper, an antiques presenter for the BBC, found faith in Christ after his daughter, Hetti, overcame severe depression through Christianity, according to Christian Daily. Raised in a non-religious household, Harper began exploring Christianity after attending a church service with his daughter during the Christmas season in December 2024, initially seeking to understand what brought about spiritual change.

He spent 11 months studying historical claims about Jesus, the resurrection, and scientific arguments for God, gradually becoming convinced by both the intellectual and spiritual evidence. The presenter said seeing his daughter’s renewed joy and restored health profoundly shaped his own faith journey. He reflected that the true evidence of Christianity lies in the life-changing impact on a person’s soul.

Harper’s new book, The God Conundrum, documents his private research and personal experiences, including the emotional struggle and panic attacks he faced before fully embracing faith. He described moments of intense joy and fear as he worried about colleagues’ reactions and possible ridicule. He found the pull toward Christ irresistible.

Since converting, he views life as intentionally designed, no longer fears death, and feels called to share his experience and the truth about Jesus with others. He added that engaging with both the intellectual and emotional aspects of Christianity helped him incorporate his beliefs into his daily life.

The BBC antiques expert said he hopes the book reaches those questioning life’s purpose, offering a balance of rational reasoning and personal testimony about the transformative power of belief. He emphasised that the impact of seeing a loved one healed and renewed was central to his profound awakening
