Kelli Ingram, a prominent social media influencer with over 600,000 followers on Instagram and mother of nine, recently announced that her family of 11 has converted to Catholicism. In a video posted on Instagram on September 29, Kelli stated that they were strong protestant believers and never expected to become Catholic. But reading and learning helped them discover what Catholics actually believed. Kelli and her family entered the Catholic Church on Easter Day this year.
KELLI WAS A PRESBYTERIAN BELIEVER
In a June 2 interview with Lila Rose, Kelli mentioned that when she first disclosed she became Catholic, her friends urged her to read the Bible. However, her response was “I did, and that’s why I am Catholic.” Kelli also noted that their views on contraception were in agreement with the Catholic Church, which prompted them to explore what else they might have in common with Catholic teachings. It was her husband, Trey, who initially began the journey, and Kelli described it as a “huge shakeup” in their lives. They eventually attended the OCIA classes to learn about the Church’s teachings and their biblical basis.
Kelli Ingram and her husband reside in North Carolina with their seven biological children and two adopted ones. She homeschools their oldest four children while also managing a 15 acre farm.
