Born in Sierra Vista, Arizona, without arms due to a rare limb reduction defect, Jessica’s life began with challenges—yet also with a profound sense of purpose. Raised by a devout Catholic Filipino mother and a Southern Baptist father, her childhood was rooted in prayer. She remembers praying the Rosary at age six, a devotion that became the spiritual anchor of her life. From early on, she understood that God had a plan for her, even if the world could not yet see it.

Rather than allowing her condition to define her, Jessica chose to live boldly for Christ. At 14, she earned her first black belt through the International Taekwon-Do Federation. Later, while studying psychology at the University of Arizona, she became the first armless person to earn a black belt in ATA Martial Arts. Each milestone became a testimony: where the world saw impossibility, God opened a path.
Her most extraordinary calling emerged in aviation. What began as a desire to confront fear became a spiritual journey of trust. After years of training across several states, Jessica learned to fly a 1946 Ercoupe airplane using only her feet. In 2008, she earned her pilot’s certificate; in 2011, she entered the Guinness World Records as the first person licensed to fly an aircraft without arms. She often describes flying as a place where she surrenders completely to God—a space where faith becomes real, immediate, and unshakable.
Jessica’s witness has since reached the world. She has traveled to more than 28 countries as a speaker and ambassador for hope, dignity, and the truth that every life is created with purpose by God. Her message encourages people to embrace their God-given identity, reject fear, and trust in His plan. In 2023, her inspiring global influence earned her an honorary doctorate.
Her personal life also reflects God’s blessings. She married her husband in 2012 and continues to dream boldly, including her project “The Impossible Airplane,” a custom aircraft designed to help pilots with limb differences.
Through every triumph, Jessica Cox proclaims one message: strengthen your faith. Her life is a living reminder that with God, nothing is impossible—and even the most unlikely dreams can soar.
