A devastating and deeply alarming attack took place in Mariamabad, Pakistan, during an Easter sunrise procession at approximately 3:30 AM. Around 200 Christians had gathered peacefully to celebrate one of the holiest moments of their faith when a loader truck, driven by a Muslim driver, reportedly accelerated at high speed into the crowd. Based on eyewitness accounts, it is evident that this was not an accident but a deliberate Islamic terror attack targeting Christians during worship.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was driven directly into the worshippers with clear intent to cause maximum harm. The sudden and brutal assault triggered chaos and a stampede, leaving many unable to escape in time. More than 60 Christians were injured in the attack, with several reported to be in critical condition.
The injured were immediately rushed to various hospitals in Gujranwala for urgent medical treatment. Witnesses consistently described the attack as premeditated and well-planned, reinforcing the seriousness of the incident and the targeted nature of the violence against a peaceful Christian gathering.
Serious concerns have also been raised regarding the response of law enforcement. Despite a police station being located only minutes away, authorities reportedly failed to reach the scene promptly, leaving victims unattended for a significant period. The incident has deeply shaken the Christian community, turning a sacred celebration into a moment of suffering and raising urgent concerns about their safety and protection.
