Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that Major General Majid Khademi, head of its intelligence arm, was killed in coordinated airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel. The strikes targeted multiple sites in and around Tehran, including residential areas, marking a major escalation in tensions between Tehran and the US‑Israel coalition.

The IRGC described Khademi’s death as the result of a “criminal terrorist attack by the American‑Zionist enemy,” highlighting his decades of service in intelligence and security. Khademi had led the IRGC Intelligence Organisation since June 2025, following the death of his predecessor in previous Israeli strikes.

Reports indicate that more than 25 others were also killed and explosions shook multiple areas of Tehran, raising fears of further retaliation. Iran has responded with missile fire toward Israel and Gulf Arab nations, while diplomatic efforts to prevent wider conflict are ongoing.

Khademi’s death is considered a major blow to Iran’s military leadership and could signal further instability in the region in the coming days.
