Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Israeli strikes have killed several of Iran’s leading nuclear scientists, escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Speaking during a press briefing, Netanyahu said Israel had targeted key figures involved in Iran’s nuclear programme as part of a wider campaign to weaken the country’s military and technological capabilities.
Netanyahu also issued a stark warning to Iran’s newly installed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, declaring that there is “no life insurance” for leaders who threaten Israel. His remarks suggested that Iran’s leadership could remain a target if Tehran continues pursuing nuclear ambitions or supporting attacks against Israel and its allies.
The Israeli leader defended the ongoing military operations carried out alongside the United States, stating that the campaign has significantly damaged Iran’s military infrastructure and leadership network. However, he acknowledged that the conflict has not yet brought about the collapse of the Iranian government.
The warnings come amid a rapidly escalating regional conflict that has seen missile strikes, drone attacks, and disruptions to global energy supplies. Analysts warn that the assassination of senior scientists and threats against political leaders could further intensify the confrontation, raising fears of a broader war across the Middle East.
