Thousands of Americans are preparing to enter the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil in dioceses all across the U.S. The unprecedented wave of conversion that is sweeping through the country is undoubtedly the work of the Holy Spirit. Recent posts by Catholic influencer Sachin Jose Ettiyil give the astounding numbers:
3442 people will become Catholic in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Georgia, while 1755 people will embrace Catholicism in the Archdiocese of Washington. The Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey, will see a record 1701 people becoming Catholic – 396 more than last year. The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the Archdiocese of St. Louis in Missouri, the Diocese of Tulsa, and the Diocese of Cleveland will receive about 1000 people each into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.
In various dioceses across the state of Florida, a total of 3235 people will enter the Catholic Church. Both the Diocese of Phoenix, Arizona, and the Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon, are expecting over 1600 people to become Catholic this Easter. A record number of 1846 people are set to join the Catholic Church in the Diocese of San Diego, California, while the Diocese of Fort Worth in Texas will receive 1550 new Catholics.
