Boko Haram terrorists killed over 200 Christians and abducted nearly 300 women and children in Ngoshe town in Nigeria on March 5, 2026. TruthNigeria reported that the Islamist militants first attacked the military base in Ngoshe, burned down all the vehicles of the military, seized their arms, and killed about 50 soldiers.

According to a survivor, all churches in the area, as well as schools and a police station, were also burned down during the rampage. The militants pursued those who escaped to the nearby mountains to save their lives. Boko Haram Commander released a video, in which, flanked by fellow terrorists, he boasted about the massacre, enslavement of women, and Islamization of Ngoshe.

In 2014, Boko Haram seized Ngoshe and its surroundings to establish a caliphate and forced 80,000 people to flee to nearby Cameroon. About 3,000 of these refugees had recently returned to Ngoshe after the Borno State Governor pledged safe return and financial assistance for over 12,000 Nigerians to encourage repatriation. The Nigerian army is yet to release a statement, and the local senator has largely downplayed the attack, dramatically reducing the number of casualties.
