Tim Tebow, 38, former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, released his illustrated book If the Tree Could Speak, retelling the crucifixion from the perspective of the cross. The Christian Post reported that Tebow conceived the idea during a sleepless morning as he reflected on Luke 19:40, where Jesus says creation would cry out if His followers remained silent.
The book follows a tree from seed to crucifixion, portraying its transformation into what he called an “instrument of shame” that ultimately becomes a throne and path to eternal salvation. Rommel Ruiz illustrated the story, imagining the tree’s dashed hopes of becoming something useful or beautiful before being shaped into the cross. He said the narrative reframes the events of Calvary not only as suffering but as victory and redemption.
He stressed that the Gospel should never become routine or lose its significance. He explained that believers are saved from sin, saved by Christ and saved for a purpose known as the Great Commission. Sharing faith, he emphasised, should come from humility rather than superiority, even when fear or hesitation exists.
The themes of death and resurrection also connect to Tebow’s humanitarian efforts through the Tim Tebow Foundation, which supports vulnerable populations, including survivors of trafficking. He added that Christ’s victory reshapes history and eternity, offering lasting hope amid global instability and cultural tension.
