ISIS Claims Killing Of 29 African Christians In December 2025

In December 2025, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deaths of 29 African Christians. Of the victims, 25 were beheaded and four were shot. Most of the attacks took place in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where 23 Christians were beheaded.

Two Christians were beheaded in Mozambique, and four were shot to death in Nigeria. The Islamic State Central Africa Province and the Islamic State Mozambique Province claimed responsibility for the targeted killings.

On Decmeber 4, fighters of the Islamic State of Central Africa Provinc beheaded two christians during a raid on the village of Omble in the Lubero territory of the DRC’S North Kivu Province.

The ISCAP fighters raided the village of Idohu in the DRC’s Ituri province beheading three Christians on December 9.

Ten christians were beheaded by ISCAP fighters on December 11, and they had previoulsy taken Christians captive from a village in Ituri Province before executing them.

On December 26, fighters linked to the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) beheaded eight Christians during an attack on the village of Mondil in Lubero Territory. The assailants also reportedly looted property belonging to Christian residents.

In Mozambique, fighters from the Islamic State Mozambique Province (ISMP) beheaded a Christian they had captured near the village of Diaca in the Mocimboa da Praia district of Cabo Delgado Province on December 22. On the same day, ISMP militants also beheaded another Christian near the village of Magaia in the Muidumbe district of Cabo Delgado.

In a statement issued on December 26, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) said its fighters carried out a raid on the village of Timwai in Nigeria’s Adamawa State. The group claimed that four Christians were shot dead during the attack, 50 homes and three motorcycles were burned, and five other motorcycles were looted.
